About us

The Institut d'Investigació Sanitària Pere Virgili (IISPV) is a biomedical research institute in the province of Tarragona. It combines clinical and basic research in order to accelerate the translation of knowledge to the benefit of patients.

Founded in 2005 the institute is comprised of Hospital Universitari de Tarragona Joan XIII, Hospital de Tortosa Verge de la Cinta, Hospital Universitari Sant Joan de Reus, Hospital Universitari Institut Pere Mata and Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

In order to disseminate its scientific activities, IISPV organized the 1st Biomedical Research Night, with a presentation given by doctor Bonaventura Clotet.

IISPV holds the 2nd Scientific Retreat at the Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet

October 4 & 5, 2017

The second edition of the IISPV Scientific Retreat, 2017, was held at the Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet. The main goal of this annual scientific meeting is to promote the participation and interaction of the Institute's various researchers.
